If you watch this, you will see where Ian describes some of the illustrations in this book dating from US Army marksmanship publications of 1889!  One way of the author illustrating that basic fundamentals of accurate shooting were figured out long ago, and don't need reinventing.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .
