.30-'03 Brass
« on: September 19, 2018, 07:04:40 PM »
A friend has a M95 carbine chambered in .30-'03 that he wants to reload for.  BACO offers reformed brass , but cannot ship to Kanuckistan.

Anyone got some '03 brass kicking around they'd part with? It can come into thus country as a "gift", but not as a purchase.

Seems ISIS might be behind the transaction. You never know ......  ;>)

I've heard that .270 Winchester and .280 Remington can be reformed to .30-03.  Might be worth trying to fire form, trim, and full length resize some.

Yup, done tol' him that - but he's a busy rancher and game guide. Doesn't have the time, interest or inclination to do the work.

he can use 06 brass even in kanadastan that should be really common.  Who knows after 4 or so reloadings may even grow close to trim to length of the 03 brass.

Accuracy is said to suffer using .30-'06 brass and you're forgetting the longer throat of the '03 chamber. Yes, he could seat bullets further out and use only long 220 gr bullets.

The problem wouldn't keep me from shooting a '30-'03, but then I regard making paper cartridges for my '63s as fun.
