I am looking at getting into airsoft since where I live the gun restrictions are severe. What is the most iconic wild west gun that I should get first?

I agree the Umarex SAA revolver would be a good choice gives that iconic look your looking for and comes in a few different finishes, also it is made in the same place as VFC so you know its going to shoot well and last.

No, a friend talked me out of it and got me to get an Elite Force lock instead. He told me I'd have a lot more fun with a modern gun.

I do enjoy it, I can't say how much more than the revolver, because I haven't had one. But It's nice, a great pistol. If you're looking for a Glock 17, better get one now. The only place with them still in stock is https://modernairsoft.com/collections/airsoft-pistol-glock and they might not last long...
