Spencer and Sharps For Sale
« on: May 06, 2018, 07:21:09 PM »
I am selling my Spencer and Sharps carbines inherited from Dad a couple years back.
This is the only place I've listed these for the time being.
If you want additional photos or etc. please just ask.
I live in northeast Ohio, Kirtland, and will gladly ship via whichever carrier you prefer.

Asking $1,500
This is an odd-ball Spencer, it doesn't have a sling-bar, but does have the cutoff. The barrel and receiver SN match.
Not sure if the barrel was cut down from a rifle and the cutoff added or what happened with this one.
On the stock are three marks; a C stamp, a V stamp and "JDR" faintly stamped. Are these arsenal marks from when it was converted to an 1865?

I don't know much about Sharps carbines, but this one has very pretty metal and wood, the barrel seems to have been pretty well shot out but it still has a smooth action and solid feel.

Let me know what you think, or if I'm way off-base on prices or etc.
I'm selling these off to give mom a bit of help, they're just sitting in the gun safe waiting for someone who will love them!

I'm interested in the Sharps if it can be shipped directly to me as an antique and not go through an FFL. How would you want payment? You can email me at rvb100@comcast.net. thanks

Just an update. I’ve decided to pass on the Sharps. Seems like a very good value for an antique Sharps carbine. But what I wanted to do in the way of reliving the barrel won’t work as I wanted. Someone should grab this ASAP

I've added middling quality photos of both bores to the gallery links above.
The Sharps doesn't have rifling and looks like it has been reamed out, but I'm guessing here.
The Spencer has rifling left but lots of pitting.
