IIRC No.  But S & S Firearms sell a center fire replacement block that works very well.

Hello:

Saw your post on the other Forum.

Answers here, either way, may not be more than experience with a specific gun.

Armisport Spencers can be different and vary in many internal ways.
There may be no easy way to know, short of buying and trying.

"I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken." Haha
My educated guess is "probably not", but.....

Be SURE you have a very clear understanding, in writing of any supposed interchangeability assurances if you might expect a refund.

I am not knocking Taylors.  Just sharing that variations can make this problematic.

Just my experience based opinion.

Respectfully,

Write to Chiappa direct - they are pretty good with their help.

I emailed Chiappa and they said they did not know. I was hoping someone here had both an original and a reproduction and could try it out for me. Oh well. Just to add though, Chiappa's customer service does get back to you extremely quick.

I have 2 Chiappa Spencers a early 44 Russian and a later 56-50 rifle. The blocks are not interchangeable with my original Spencers .The lock is very close to original and can be made to work if the right screws are . Dixie S&S BACO and others sell replacement parts and very good CF upper blocks

Hello, and thanks Herbert:

A detailed post will be forthcoming from a CAS/SSS member about getting his factory new 56-50 Chiappa/Armisport from Taylors to cycle. The block from another Chiappa/A'sport worked in his when his "identical" block would not cycle rounds.

My opinion is that AS THE CHIAPPA/AS Spencer repro "evolved" over several years, parts AND THEIR DIMENSIONS were changed.
This is common for modern gun builders, as they learn and improve designs.

In fairness, Taylors was not adequately aware of subtle, but important changes OR THAT HIS FACTORY NEW RIFLE HAD A CARTRIDGE FEED GUIDE FOR A DIFFERENT ROUND!
As recited on the NFL weekly recap (regarding the WRONG PART in a new gun):
Come on man!

Added to that was the discovery that the "latest" replacement, correct caliber guide and spring are different and must be modified to enable reliable, smooth cycling.  So, even if a part from a Chiappa would fit, that part may be older/newer and not work AS DELIVERED.
I think that this thread began with a person on another forum wanting NOT to spend full list price for what he knows is otherwise available from vendors. If so, I suppose we should help him find a USED C-Fire block. He might consider reposting or a "BTT" post on the other Forum.  There are lots of C-F blocks in the hands of skirmishers.

Thanks Herbert, that is what I was looking for. I'm just going to pony up the bucks and buy a tried and true centerfire block from Buffalo Arms. I believe they are the only ones that are case colored. Thanks all! Phil
