Just to show off my ignorance, is this a reproduction of an actual military coat, or just a movie prop?

There were several patterns of mackinaw used by the US military from 1900-1950’s. The one Lee Marvin is Westin I this movie is very reminiscent of those used prior to WW1 and during.

So did the enemy really use chain shot to take down the rigging when you were in?

Actually, if I recall correctly, it was a M1860 Sabre. Ask him about it sometime when you have time for the rest of the story.

I wrote to them about larger sizes.  They should be along in 7-10 days.
