Ugh, wow. talk about building something out of the ordinary. :o Wonder how it does with Black Powder? ??? Oh well, I'll just stick with my Sharps, Trapdoor, 86 Winchester and my Rolling Block, there enough for my old shoulder as it is. :)

And they complain about the 5.56 and carbon build up!  :o

::) I think that I'll stick with the trapdoors and sharps when I shoot 45/70 and 5.56/.223 when I shoot AR's

Oh, and no we won't be adding a new category for it. I could just hear my XO now,  "NO!!!" ;)

There is talk of using wooly mammoth DNA to create a living critter.  I it becomes possible to do so, and re-introduce a mammoth-Asian elephant cross in sufficient numbers, I could see where this might be a practicable item!  ::) Also might be useful in case of a full-blown buffalo stampede!  :o  Otherwise, I think I'll pass...

Every now and then even the staunchest 2nd Amendment supporter has to ask, "Why?"  Sort of like the double-1911 or a 1911 mounted on a Patton Saber.  It's certainly a conversation starter but I'm not sure how much more!!!   :)

Well, I'd rather have a Semi-Auto .45/70 than a double 1911 or any gun mounted on a sabre, but I don't want it enough to blow $4800 on it.  I'm happy with my $1K Chiappa 1886, it goes fast enough for a small herd of Woolly Mammoths.

My most favorite AR is one chambered in .45 but in .45acp. The .45-70 belongs in a Remington Rolling Block, Sharps, Gattling, Marlin 1895 or Winchester 1886. Duh, just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.

It's not really even a 45-70, since they turned a .308 size case head on a 45-70 case. But they don't they already have a 45 caliber cartridge for the AR platform?

.450 Bushmaster, but it just shoots "little" .45 caliber bullets, 225/250 grain. nickname "Thumper"

I like it and actually tried to convince one of the manufacturers of modular ARs to make one. He used to bring their custom ARs to the range and function test them. Several times I "assisted".

Allready been done.  And this one works in the AR-15 platform, feeding from standard AR magazines.

Oh, and NO!
