Morning all.

Foggy and 35 here this morning, supposed to clear out and hit 60 later.  We'll see.

Our new hen has been introduced to the others now for two days.  So far, so good.  One of our older (read "dominant") hens tried to pick on her, but we have the new one in the 4x8' enclosed run off the side of the coop, so no fights came of it.  The seven other hens seem to pretty much ignore her.  We're still keeping her inside at night, though.

Came real close to getting my truck t-boned yesterday by some guy who was driving a full size creeper van around the neighborhood at 40mph.  We're talking White Ford full size van, tires squealing around corners.  All he was missing was a "free candy" sign.  Turned on the scanner and heard that local LE was looking for a white van that almost went head-on with a fire truck by cutting a blind corner on the highway.  Didn't have phone with me at the time, so didn't report.  Got home in time to see him still in the neighborhood, turning around and leaving rubber in the undersheriff's driveway.  Before I turned the truck off, I heard him on the radio call the other deputy down the street, who went and blocked the only way out.  I stopped listening after that.

Sometimes it gets its food sideways when it tries to put it in its mouth.  ::) Usually it it the last mouthful before it is full.

Slim, I'm sure you'll teach it how to eat properly. Is that one that looks like a small 1911?

Morning hunt was un-eventful, left the stand by 9 to go to church. After church, practiced a bit with the .41 Mag, in case I don't tag out during regular season. "Alternative methods" season will be starting Dec 23, for I think 9 days. Pistols, Muzzle loaders, Spears, you name it. Anything but Centerfire rifles and shotguns.

I polished the feed ramp some last night with Flitz.

Yes. The Browning .380 and Baby Rock are "clones".  ;)

Not sure what is happening. It is usually the last round in the mag so I'm thinking it might be a weak mag spring.

I agree, it was a beautiful day. A little rain early, before sunrise, heavy fog and 49. By 9ish, sun was peaking out, it was cool, but not cold. I could deal with more days like this.

I'll stoke the fires and warm the coffee for the night dwellers.

Rained most of the day, but temperature was around 50, so we didn't have any trouble with the white stuff.  Clouds blew out around 2200 (2315 now), and the mercury got shorter.  It's around 40 now, and still getting cooler.

Off work for the Bambi search for the rest of the week. Started drizzling about 8 am, but that's ok, a nice fat button buck wandered by my stand about 7. Two down, one landowner tag to go. I think I can still buy more antlerless only tags if I want, depends on which county in Mo. But I think I'll try and get at least one cut up and frozen first.
