A couple of Colts showed up
« on: June 29, 2019, 10:20:32 am »
Hope that DA Colts are welcome here! Got these as Zoot Shooting guns. The first, is a 1933 New Service in .45ACP that is in really clean condition, just needed a good cleaning and is ready to go.
The second is a sad little beast that had been totally neglected [close to abused]. Broken grips, heavily worn finsh and had not been cleaned or oiled in decades! Took me a while to get the fossilized remains of the electrical tape off the back strap then cleaned and oiled it up. Found some NOS Jay Scott grips for it and it seems to be very happy to have been adopted.

Neat. I'm sure they're okay, I've seen Tom Mix carrying a DA.

Took the little .32 to the range last week. It seems to like it here. Shot really well with good groups at 15 yards. I think the little bugger is gonna make it!
