Better stock up for next years Muster,  San Juan Hill!
It is far better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

Someone, and I won't mention who, pointed out that it isn't required to shot firearms specific to the theme...they only have to be allowed by GAF rules.  And, someone else, Mary (AKA Miss Red, AKA Many Horses), heard this fact.  SO, I can't use the Grand Muster to justify a Krag....They did use trapdoors.  I'll likely be using my TD carbine for next year.  At least it doesn't foul out after 7 or 8 shots!

:-[ OOPS, sorry. I didn't think about the fact that some wife might take this rule to mean that her husband doesn't need another gun. If you'd like I could try to explain that you really do need another gun...as an investment in her future...if you'd like.

Jerry, my comments were only an attempt at humor.  Mary was/is aware of the regulations, and has been understanding about my purchases for past events only being a want and not a need...the trapdoor carbine, the Spencer carbine (which I need to work with more) and the Henry (which has yet to see GAF action).  I did make a "good trade" when I got her!

She and I are considering camping at next year's event, and spending money on a nice canvas sunforager tent, chairs, cots, etc., and a rough rider uniform.

You are hereby ordered to buy a cheap sporterized Krag and make yourself a carbine for next year.  This is an absolute necessity to preserve and increase the number of Krags among us.  SWMBO will understand that you have recieved an order and have no choice, and you will, if needed, buy something for her in compensation . . .

The truth be known...I don't own any guns.  Every time I buy one, I walk in the door, and say "Honey, look what I bought you!"
I do need to recover (that is finish paying for!) from the HRA 1860 Henry.  Maybe SWMBO will get a Krag for Christmas!
