Bayonet Dummy
« on: June 15, 2017, 08:12:38 PM »
Gentlemen,  I present the Bayonet Dummy 2.0, although we'll probably only use them in the Expansion Era stage this year.

You do have a fondness for hanging pointy/sticky things on the barrel of your rifle.  As long as you don't shoot it off!

Guess I'll bring the long Krag.   ;D
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

The Lebel bayonet is the only one I have that will actually stay on the rifle when I shoot it! The Krag one has a somewhat rusted out latch, and the Springfield is a reproduction, that required a LOT of filing before it would even latch on.

The only rifle/bayonet combo I have is a Garand with 18" bayonet.  Can I bring it along to stab the dummy?  (and maybe pop a few at the LR targets...)

You're welcome to BRING about anything, but maybe not for competition use. You just have to bring extra ammo for everyone else to try it out.

A belt knife or sword may be used, and a range provided edged weapon will be available for those without rifle pointy/sticky thingys . . .

I know for a fact a Krag bullet will take a Krag bayonet part way down range if not securely locked on............didn't do much for the bayonet, either!

Would a bayonet dummy be the same as a javelin catcher?

You need one of these Ned.  You're SUPPOSED to shoot it off the end of the barrel . . .

I remember seeing those advertised.  It would be sort of fun to have for carp shooting at the lake...........
