Easy large barlow question
« on: June 01, 2017, 07:35:01 PM »
Does anyone know if the large daddy barlow was offered by Russel before the turn of the century? I believe the smaller ones were introduced in 1876, but have i've never seen the larger ones cataloged anywhere untill after 1900. Thanks

Thanks, I wonder if those dates pertain only to the tang stamp though?

The 'Russell' trademark for their oldest knives (1880's) should be straight.

Later knives have the mark in a curve.

Thanks guys, one thing I found in an article is that by 1877 they had over 400 configurations of folding knives in production. It stands to reason that the large daddy barlow was likely one of them. It isnt shown in the 1884 catalog however so the question remains open.
