Requests for Color Guard at the 2006 Muster
« on: November 09, 2005, 03:43:26 PM »
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to be able to have the following Color Guards available for Opening Cerimonies of the 2006 GAF Muster, remember the Civil War theme:

1 United States Color Guard
2 Confederate States Color Guard
3 Assuming Rattle Snake will be coming again, a British Color Guard.

I would also like to do some kind of pass and review....Need volunteers and maybe a drill master too.  I did more push ups during D&C on Parris Island than anybody because I had/have issues with right and left ;)

Sir,
Pipe Maj. Aengguss MacNauggett reporting in as per requests for a Colour Guard. I shall be in contact with RJR per his requirements, etc., but at this time can and most happily, will provide a Bass Drum, Snare, Mace, etc., and uniform of commiserate quality to maintain the decorum needed for same event.
It is also possible, and highly probable, that I may be able to realign enough schedules from old friends and participants to garner a full Fig Demi-Regiment of the Original Territorial Border Guards combing Pipes & Drums of same. However, at this point in time I must defer this to what you yanks call the 'Dream Team' scenario and proffer that with a years time it may be doable to pull it off, hopefully and with much aplomb.
I remain, etc.,
Pipe Maj. Aengguss MacNauggett,
The 42nd, The Black Watch
On Extra-Regimental Duty, Asssigned to the Corp of Observors, The Colonies, 1860, etc.
Please feel free to contact me via:

Will be at Muster 2006 in the absence of unforseen circumstances ....

I will continue to work on Nine Toe Jim from Manitoba, to get him there as well!

Pipe Major McNauggett:  will be a positive honour to have you On Parade!

Major Matt:

With Gabe, you're often not sure what the hell he actually said!   ::)

When my Dad went in the Marines, before WWII started, the DI's called cadence "Hay foot, straw foot!" because they had so many farm boys that didn't know left from right.

He also had a Sgt. that had to mark an "X" for his pay.

Guess that was "The Old Corps."

I reckon someone's gonna have to climb up a local church bell tower an' hang a single lantern, just so's everybody knows, the British are comin'.  (One if by land . . .)

I'd be happy to participate in the color guard, if I'm not needed to crew any artillery pieces.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

Where will the Muster be taking place?
And that would be the Dominion of Canada Flag, which is different from the Union Jack.

Colonel Flashman,

The Muster will be the 5th - 8th of October in Ackley, Iowa.  It would be a pleasure to have you there.

As posted elsewhere, I have discovered that the dates chosen for the 2006 Muster will preclude my attendance.   >:(

Sir Harry:  Actually, Canada did not have a national flag of its own, officially, until the mid-20th century, though the Canadian Red Ensign (in its varous forms) was frequently flown during the earlier part of that century ...  During the 19th century, however, for government and military purposes, the Union flag of Britain was used.
