How about a converted Henry from Peru?  ;)

Finally, the pièce de résistance & the first "true" Winchester:  the “Improved Henry Carbine”. Note the documentation that some were sold commercially with most being shipped to Cuba. Read the fascinating history:

Personally, my choice would be the converted Henry.  That is one FINE rifle.  It would be some kind of fun to "copy" it.  It wouldn't be
all that difficult.  The engraving, on the other hand would set one back a pay check or two .....................

I like the engraved gun and yes big buck to get done, well down here any away. I do like the contract gun as well, but finding a donner gun is almost impossible here.
Will keep dreaming. :'(

T4T,

Datz a custom stock with a German "Schutzen" style cheek piece.  The rifle was obviously built for a discerning gentleman with an
amount of hunting/shooting experience in Europe.
I love to be able to get that stock in a pantographing stock duplicating router.  I have four Henry rifles, so I'd need five copies.  Maybe six.  Need one on my '73 as well as my '66.

PS:  The discerning gentleman also had a large amount of disposable income.

I'll have to learn how to post pictures.  Except for engraving (need someone nutz enough to go pro bono) I've done the metal work.
Removed the barrel shroud and front sight assembly.
Lopped the barrel off about an 1/8 inch out from the main barrel section.
Made a magazine plug from an 1873 plug
Shortened Stainless Steel Mag Spring.
Original Kings Patent (not 1866 ladle) loading gate.
Revised Carrier Block for Cowboy 45 Special cases ("The Smith Shop)
Mag capacity is now 16 rounds in a 19 1/4 inch barrel rifle.
Dovetail a new front sight.
So far, really way KOOL.

Next step is to order up an unfinished Henry stock blank and scab on a Cheek Piece.
Then Checker the stock to mime the "inspiration."

Gonna take most of the winter to complete the project.  Most of my retirement check as well ;)

Yeah, that too!  In 44 Russian  :)

Although it wouldn't take much new tooling to make the Henry with the brass forend.

Abilene, I'm sure you know better than anyone else here that the demand for CAS guns has tanked compared to what it was circa. 2000, which was considered the peak year. That is why nowadays we rarely see anything new & novel introduced. I don't think we are going to see anything earth shaking from here on out.

FCK,
Unfortunately, I see the same thing.  The market for our toys has been in decline and will continue to decline.  As I see it, we're going to be lucky to see what we currently have continuing in production.  ALL of the manufacturers have already scaled back production as well
as diversifying their lines to other venues (Reproduction 22 Cal sub-machine guns).  Sad, but it is what is.
