Help, belts bleeding

Need help on getting a braided belt to stop bleeding. Belt is not new, I dyed it to refresh it, oil dye. Tried balm, still rubs off. Is there a cure. Belt is wife's so save me. Getting to point of dipping in polyurothane and putting it on her to dry. Any ideas would be great..

The only luck I've had with bleeding is to let it bleed until it stops, of course, that trashes good clothing. I would think something that actually hardens would stop it. You could just put it on the back and not the side you see. Call the leather supplier where you get your lealther and ask if they have any good proguct for the job.

I'd try Rosolene followed by super sheen.

Howdy, Pard,
You might try Fiebing's Bag-Kote. It works with Fiebing's spirit- (alcohol) based dyes, but I'm NOT SURE about its effectiveness on oil-based dyes!

i had the same problem with those two Colt Govt holsters i made a few weeks ago. i simply sprayed them with a wax-based super sheen-type product (but no Super Sheen) bought at Tandy and the problem disappeared.
