Wheeee dogies!

Sittin' here writing a school paper and hear a deputy on the radio report a high-speed chase.  100mph through highway 36 past Mad River (google it, 100mph is..quite frankly not possible for long).  Then the deputy reports foot chase.  Second deputy arrives, and helps in foot pursuit, then there are three shots fired at them.  Moments later, a car comes barreling down the road, nailing one of the deputies.  Other deputy unable to get a shot.
An hour later, they just got the injured deputy on a chopper, headed to the nearest hospital (Eureka).  Suspect(s) at large.

I sure hope this is the last time anything like that ever happens here.  I know the injured deputy personally (local theater got him into a tutu, somehow..  ???  ).  Not only that, but 20-some percent of the population are children.  I don't know 'bout y'all, but I prefer my friends not flattened by a 100mph road chase, shot by errant bullets (almost happened to me, once :o ), overdosing on illegal substances, mangled by foreign drug dealers etc..

Please pray for this deputy.

Got a dead starter on the Ferguson 30. What is involved in rebuilding a starter? Just replacing parts? How does one know what is wrong with it?

A starter is really a Elec. motor , could be just the solenoid, that's a parts replacement.
Could be rust on the commutator and/or the field, you could try to thump it a few with a billy or short piece of 2x4 ,  :-\ I've seen that work , but it's not a fix but may get it to start.

Lastly, pull it and take it to a Shop and have it rebuilt,  should be way less costly than buying  a new one

Thumping with a hammer worked a couple times, then the hammer stuck to it. Electro-magnet.  ::)
There is a local shop that will rebuild it, but I was wondering if I could do it to save some $.

Hey, Congrats, Happy B’Day, G’Luck ‘n get better soon. Whatever applies……

Kids just left for home in the occupied north. Brought the latest ‘grand’ with ‘em. This be Nash:

Did some shootin’ on the east pasture. My grand daughter. Cost me a buck. Bet ‘er she couldn’t hit the chicken. She did:

Parker, my four year old grand boy. I drew up a sight picture. Shook his head ‘n said he had it. SIL ‘n I let ‘im figure it out from there. Doin’ everything wrong but he figgered out what worked for him ‘n hit the ram fairly consistently:

Oldest grand boy shot then hauled to other distractions ‘til his next turn. N’er did get a shot of him.
Honorary Life Member of the Pungo Posse. Badge #1. An honor bestowed by the posse. Couldn’t be more proud or humbled.

All I did was name it ‘n get it started. The posse made it great. A debt I can never repay. Thank you, mi amigos.

That tractor shouldn't need a starter, it should have a crank also. ;D
