Anyone ever run across a .22LR repro of the Volcanic pistol made by the "Rifle Works & Armory" in Belfry, Montana?

Don't know how many were made, but it must have been a fun shooter.

I didn't find anything on google, except a reference to modifying a .22 "yellow Boy".

I read something about them years ago in a guns and ammo article by phil spagenberger. I have not heard anything else on them until now

They went out of business many years ago and did not produce many of these guns.  One turned up at the Cody gun show about 8 years ago.  It was a rifle and if I remember correctly, it had an 18" barrel.  The gun was new, unfired and in the white.  These guns were truly a work of art.  Fit and finish were as good as it gets.  I remember being told that there had been quite a lot of parts left on hand when the company closed and that the whole lot had been purchased by a private individual.  I've never heard anything more  about the company or their guns.

I seem to recall that the last one I saw for sale at Dixie Gun Works' used guns section was serial no. "48".
That must have been some ten years ago, and I still regret not buying it....  :'(

I actually got to fondle one at the Crossroads of the West guns how in Denver Colorado.  Must have been arounds 1996 +/-  The guy that had it was trying to drum up some investment money.  Super well finished but unfortunately, a super small market.  Profitability was somewhat doubtful.  That I know of, they never went into series production, just a bunch of prototypes.

Forgot,
Couple of years ago, followed a thread over a lever guns forum, of a guy who built a Volcanic Rifle and a Volcanic Pistol from SCRATCH.
Really amazing workmanship.

Blackpowder Burn

There was a guy that came by our SASS club in Houston probably 5 or 6 years ago that had built a volcanic pistol from scratch.  He showed it to us - an amazing piece of work.  I assume it was the same person?  Don't remember his name.
