I'd strongly suggest that you are much better off to find some Schofield cases than to lengthen the chambers on a firearm that is near its safe limits. Starline sell them fairly reasonably and they can be loaded with 45LC dies, or even 45ACP dies.

45 cowboy Special is also a great option for the opentop, and new cases are now available.

That's not bad.  Purchasing a Clymer chamber reamer to do it yourself would have cost you a lot more!

Do keep your loads light to moderate.  But I'm sure you knew that  :)

The point I was getting at, is that Open Tops have been known to have cracking issues.  Do not try Blackhawk loads, or even SAA loads.  Keep it modest and live long and prosper.

Thanks for the advice folks all very much appreciated.I shoot Pale Rider class over here or black powder gunfighter when PR not available.I normally use RM conversions in 45 with the OT now as back up.When im feeling really healthy I full out my Walkers with their Kirst conversions and use those.Try this link if you can cheers Hick
