Fall Buffalo Shoot

I will be putting on a buffalo shoot at Milan Il. on Oct. 19th. These are some of the old Ackley targets, 2 herds of 17 knockdown steel
targets. We will also be doing a Billy Dixon side match, 1/5 distance 1/5 size target, hint, have an accurate site setting for 270 yards
There will be buffalo chili for lunch. Medals will be awarded to the top 5 finishers. Camping will be available and there will be a SASS
cowboy shoot on Sunday. Hope some of you can make it, PM me with any questions

Hey, Billy!  Wish I could attend.  The Government shutdown is getting in the way.  The good news is I am declared essential, or the new word is "excepted" so I am still working (no pay until a new funding bill is passed) but the bad news is all leave is cancelled.

Send a few of those stout .45 2.4 loads down range for me!

Bear Tooth Billy, Mr. Peabody and myself will not be able to make the shoot.  Too many things going on this time of year.  I hope to make it next year.  Hope to see you in Evansville next year.  We are planning on having a Peabody display at the NCOWS Convention in March.

Matt, I was hoping maybe you make an official goyt. trip to the Rock Island arsenal on that Friday and then since you are in the
neighborhood, you could shoot with us!!! I'm going to use my big fifty, 650 grain bullet on top of 95 gr. Swiss, that really
speaks with authority and knocks over those steel buffs. Charlie, sorry you can't make it , will see you one of these days

Wow, Billy, that should spell the doom of any target or bison I am aware of.  I'd love to set next to you and see hat artillery go off,

My head still hurts from having your .45-2.4  rounds firing off next to me!

My lovely bride, the beautiful Christy Lynne wants me to get another buffalo this year, so maybe in December I will go out to Hartsel, Coloardo and harvest a bull.

BTW, As of today... according to the letter I received, use of all types of "leave" is restored for "excepted" DOD employees working through the furlough. I cancelled one appt last week & have three scheduled for this week. Last weeks appt was for a work injury....and the Army is stumped by their suicide figures. Folks are literally dying to get out
