While developing my 56-50 cartridge for my 1865 Carbine, I purchased 250, 50-70 Government Starline cases. Trimming the 50-70 Government to Spencer 56-50 length made cases that fit my Carbine chamber and made the old gentleman come back to live. Now what do I do with approximately 150 50-70 cases that are excess to my needs? Anyone need a small or large amount of these cases which I will sell at the Starline per case price plus shipping? Or possibly better, and one need 56-50 cases made from 50-70 cases trimmed to any length you desire? Buffalo Arms currently sells 56-56 cases trimmed from 50-70 Government for $2.50 per case. I can beat that price by a bunch and give you an option of the actual case length you may want. For example, I trim my cases to 1.171 rather than 1.151 as the extra length gives me a better crimp on the bullet I cast and still allows me to us an overall length of 1.50 for the finished cartridge. I am not, repeat not, starting a business. Just reducing my overstock of brass and possibly helping any Spencer shooter who has not made the investment into the equipment needed to make 56-50 cases that work. Any interest? Paledun
