Shotgun Forum

I've noticed there's no Shotgun Forum.  Any chance of starting one?

If there is enough interest, we'll do it.

Shotgun boogie;

SHOT-GUN BOOGIE
Recorded by Tennessee Ernie Ford
Words and music by Tennessee Ernie Ford

There it [C] stands in the corner with the barrel so straight
I looked out the window and over the gate
The [F] big, fat rabbits are a-jumpin' in the grass
[C] Wait'll they hear my old shotgun blast (*)
Shot-[F] gun Boogie (* * * *) I done saw your [C] tracks ...
Look [G] out Mr. Rabbit when I [G7] cock my hammer [C] back.

Well, over on the ridge is a (*scaley bark)
Hick'er nuts so big you can see 'em in the dark
The big fat Squirrels they scratch and they bite
I'll be on that ridge before daylight (*)
Shot-gun Boogie (* * * *) all I need is one shot ...
Look out bushy tail, tonight you'll be in the pot.

Well, I met pretty gal she was tall and thin
I asked her what she had, she said: "A FOX 410."
I looked her up and down and said: "Boy, this is love."
So we headed for the brush to shoot a big fat Dove (*)
Shot-gun Boogie (* * * *) boy the feathers flew ...
Look out Mr. Dove when she draws a bead on you.

I sat down on a log, took her on my lap
She said: "Wait a minute, bub, you got to see my pap,
He's got a 16-gauge choked down like a rifle
He don't like a man that's a-gonna trifle." (*)
Shot-gun Boogie (* * * *) draws a bead so fine ...
Look out big boy, he's loaded all the time.

Well, I called on her pap like a gentleman oughter
He said: "No brush hunter's gonna get my daughter."
He cocked back the hammer right on the spot
When the gun went off, I outran the shot (*)
Shot-gun Boogie (* * * *) I wanted wedding bells ...
I'll be back little gal, when your pappy runs out of shells.

Howdy
A shotgun site would be great , we could discuss cas guns and Vintage Hunting guns there . That way the shooters could find out what was working and what is JUNK .

I support this move.  When a board concentrates on one discipline or firearm it is easier to focus debates and for Pards to find the resulting information.

I wholeheartedly concur!
then we would have a place to discuss percussion vs pin-fire vs centerfire; damascus vs fluid steel "tubes"; hammer vs hammerless;
boxlock vs sidelock; greener vs "other"  ; top lever vs sidelever vs underlever ;

We can even entertain discussing trombone guns.

and then we can discuss various shotgunning games, such as skeet surfing:

Of all the guns I own, the shotgun is my favorite. They are so versatile.

A Shotgun Forum is a great idea. It would be especially helpful for new Cowboy Action shooters. I started shooting Cowboy Action matches in 2007. The only reason I only bought a shotgun then because it was required. Now the shotgun have become one of my favorite firearms to shoot. At my clubs monthly matches one of the stages is always a "Shotgun only" stage. We have been doing this for two years now and it has been well received.

Let's try a board for shotguns and see how it pans out:
