Capt. you will appreciate this as well. LT. Gouverneur Kemble Warren (the general who ordered the defense of Little Rountop) may have crossed the land that became my farm when he mapped the Middle Loup valley in 1858. If he didn't cross it, he was certainly within 1 1/2 miles of it.

I too have walked the grounds of that special place.  Living so close I have the benefit of going whenever we want to take a day trip.  There seems to always be something new to take away from it.

That is fantastic about Warren

My closest shot to famous folks is Lewis and Clark came thru the Bitteroot valley and if they stayed close to the river were with in 1/4 to 3/4 mile of one or the other of the places I lived as a Kid.

Once I retire I may look into a summer place in the Waynesboro, Chambersburg, Carlisle area.  I expect Gettysburg proper may well be out of my market.
