The 2013 AZSA World Championships of Gangster Action Shooting will again be over the Labor Day Weekend with the 1st Precinct at the Colorado Rifle Club in Byers, CO.  Side Matches will be Friday Aug. 30th.  Main Match Capers will be Saturday Aug. 31st. and Sunday Sept. 1st.  Please don't make your return reservations Sunday afternoon as we'll be shooting Capers into the afternoon.

We hope to see all the usual suspects and meet some new mugs as well.

We had nothing to do with Colorado's new gun laws; in fact we're all working hard to get rid of the crooked bums in the state house who forced them on us.  We hope you're still willing to come and shoot with your friends.  Colorado has no laws that address so called "Assault Weapons" only magazines that hold more than 15 rounds.  You can still bring your magazines into the state as long as you owned them before July 1st and don't transfer them to anyone while you're here.  If you'd rather not bring magazines into the state we understand, we have magazines we can loan to you when you're on the range shooting the match.  More information is contained in other posts.

Match Flyer/Application will be posted soon at:

Thanks for the update Bat. As of today expect to see me Labor Day Weekend.
I had contacted the Colorado State Attorney General's office and they declined to send me a meaningful reply so I then contacted the Colorado State Patrol and the following is their reply:

Mr. Davenport:

In regards to your inquiry regarding magazines and round limitations: you ARE grandfathered in and therefore not subject to any confiscation or action for possessing a magazine that holds 16 or more rounds.  There is no documentation you need to have with you.  In regards to transporting them into the state of Colorado there is no issue with importing them.  The only issue would be the transferring and/or sale of any "high capacity" magazine.  If you are bringing them into the state and keeping them, there is no issue.

If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly and I will do my best to answer them for you.

Enjoy your time in Colorado!

I'm gonna be there.

Nice to know I can bring my mags.

Generic question for anyone who might need to know...

The West Hurley and Worcester Thompsons magazines are not always interchangable.  (At least, mine don't seem to be.)   Will you have mags for both makes?

Bat 2919

I attempted to post the updated match flyer but the files too large with all the new sponsors logos.

Link to the updated flyer:

http://sandcreekraiders.com/2013%20AZSA%20World%20Championship%20APP2.pdf

The sponsors are rolling in again this year.  We're going to have some nice prizes on the table for our shooters.

This year please don't plan on flying out of Denver too early on Sunday afternoon the match awards won't finish up until about 2 PM.  Please plan accordingly so you can pick up your trophies and prizes.

If you want to use a Thompson magazine please let me know so we can get things set up.  I only have one of the new style 30 round stick mags but we've had good luck getting the older commercial and surplus mags to work in the newer Tommies.

Don't forget we have a limited number of trailer pads with electric hook ups available on the range if you're bringing your camper.

Our 2013 sponsors currently include:

Auto Ordnance

Slickbald Custom Leather

Mernickle Holsters

D Bar J Hat Company

Tuffy Security Products

Chey Cast Bullets

Redwing Trading Co.

This year isn't gonna happen for us this year, but we are planning on next year. We are going to rent a RV and come out! Are those pads able to accept a smaller one so we know what size we can bring?

Border Ruffian

Unfortunately, I managed to break three bones in my foot a couple of weeks ago. So I can't drive long distance, walk on non paved uneven ground or handle a firearm safely (due to balance issues) until it heals.  I hope you guys have a great time!  I'll be more careful next year. :'(

Pitspitr

What a great weekend! Thanks to the members of the First Precinct, Especially G-Man, G-Moll, Frank Hamer, Captain Campbell, and Butcher Bill.

Those of you who weren't able to join us don't know what you missed.

The only down side was that I blew the water pump in my pickup about 4 miles east of the Brush exit. Fortunately there was an Auto Zone open in Ft. Morgan. J. Dawg and I were able to change it out in about 1 1/2 hours and we made it home by 2:00 AM.

great video, looks like LOTS of pistol shooting.

HKUriah

It was a great shoot with a great bunch of shooters.  I can't begin to explain just how much FUN it was to attend this event and to blast away with some really nice toys in my collection.

I even won the vest pocket and military scoped rifle sidematches!

It was well worth the long drive from Boston to not to far from Denver to participate in a really great event.

And feel free to post any pics or videos of me that you may have, even if I am fighting with my 1911 the whole time.
