I have written an article for the Shootist magazine about my Vintage Hunt . The editor is talking about  adding a Vintage Hunting  column to the magazine .

Nice pic and I hope the Vintage Hunting column works out. Your profile photo and this thread tie into the book I am currently reading... Hunting trips of a Ranchman.

Cheers

Were you in the Mech.INF ???
I have been working with a Pietta 44wcf  pistol to go with my rifle . I think they will make a good combination together .

Nice outfit you have lined up for hunting season, Rowdy. I'm not sure what I'll be using next fall yet, but I do look forward to getting my ol '73 out to the range soon and enjoying some 200 yard shooting with my 44-40.

Thanks for the kind words . Last Deer season I hunted alone , my hunting buddy was sick . Hope he can make it this fall . We have had lots of fun over the years . Plus he's a better cook than I am .

That's one heck of a good looking mount Rowdy - sure puts my 2013 board to shame......sorry for the poor quality - taken with a cheap flip-phone...

Congrats one your trophy!

That looks a lot like the 24" 45/60 Rowdy. Just got through watching your ammo test video from 09' with that rifle.

Looking good!

Looking forward to this fall myself. Everything is lined up except the deer and the rifle I shoot it with. I'm thinking of my vintage 45-70 Model 1886, but I have a couple other ancient Winchesters that haven't had a turn yet either. I sure enjoyed hunting with my '73 though. I plan to take it to the range on Monday and blow the dust out of the bore.
