1905 Colt .45 Auto

One of the guys at our local cowboy shoot a couple of weeks ago shot his 1905 Colt .45 Auto on all four stages, and did quite well with it.  I got to shoot two magazines of seven through it, and I must say it shoots and points VERY well.  It did bite the web of my hand though, a trait it shares with every 1911 I've ever fired. (The 1911A1 solved that problem, for me at least.)  It would be cool to see someone shoot one of these at a GAF Muster.

Great to hear someone was firing one of these-I won't tell Norm Flayderman if you don't!

About a year ago, I almost bought an M1902 Colt Military Automatic in .38 ACP-early gun with the forward cross hatch design slide serrations that was selling for about what it was worth. Ended up buying a different Colt that was selling for less than it was worth, and it will be great at a GAF shoot, but that long .38 automatic would have been a blast too. I'll get an M1902 some day. An M1905 auto? Probably not-too pricey, but I would like to try one.

They are fun to shoot.  He's got two of them, so he shoots the refinished one and saves the better one for display.  Norm will just have to get over it!  Colt built these things to shoot, not just to look at!

I have a Husqvarna m07, a copy of the Browning 1903 in 9mm Browning Long. I bet its not much different than a 1902.  The ammo is a bugger as I have to cut down ,38 Super cases.  I have a case of Swedish military ammo but I'll save that for a bit.  Mine was made in 1918, one of the first run of Swedish made guns.  I have a military holster and  one by Heiser.

Sir Charles, I would consider a Heiser holster for one of those quite a treasure, and I'm guessing it may have been made for the M1902 Colt, but will fit the M1903 Browning/M1907 Swede because as you said, they are quite similar. I would say the main difference is the Euro M1903 is blowback and the Colt M1902 is recoil operated, with dual swinging links at both the front and rear of the barrel.
