Some of my feline friends up on the hill behind us.

Nice kitty

Talk about quick reactions.

Just about missed him.

Caught on my game camera.

I'd guess they keep the rodents out of your back yard.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

the top and bottom one are obviously a Mtn Lion or Cougar, whatever you wanna call them in your end of the country, but exactly what species of kitty is the middle one?

Tender, corn fed baby pet kitties and puppies had better stay indoors! Beautiful animals!

I was staying at my cousin's Bed and Breakfast right on the LLano River just outside of Mason, Texas. She was telling me that this professional photographer was sitting out on the porch at Sunset. And instead of trying to put walls between it and him (as I would have done), he grabbed his everpresent camera and shot this from about 20 feet away .... Heck, I did not know that bobcats could even canter!

My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Cathouse Bill used to tell us that he had a "big yaller kitty" that would follow him around the boundaries of his property (Front Range of Colorado), and would sometimes rest on top of his mobile home.  Bill always "packed", but the cat never bothered him, and visa versa.  Unfortunately, a neighbor was the nervous type and killed the cat.

Folks around suburban Denver complain to Dept. of Fish & Wildlife about coyotes and foxes.  I always check for foxes before letting our little terrier out.  OTOH, if folks would quit feeding these critters their pet cats (by leaving them out at night), maybe the "dogs" would leave for better grounds!  ;)
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

a few years ago there was a suburbanite that heard a disturbance in the back yard. When he investigated; i don't know if it was due to bad eyesight or poor light, but he thought it was his dog fighting with another dog and went out to break it up. well it wasn't another dog, it was a cougar and he ended up getting pretty well shreaded. Fortunetly the wounds wern't serious but he will probably be a bit more careful about getting involved in future critter fights.

One of our cats was taken out by a VERY BIG kitty here at the foot hills of the Rockies. That was years ago and our cats now are strictly indoor  - except for one sneaky little door darter. He will walk between the legs of one of our dogs and try to sneak out. He is successful about once every few weeks, but comes back pretty quickly.

How do we know it was a mountain lion that chowed down on our cat? His collar, tags and one leg were found under the limb of a tree that hung over a neighbors six foot fence. It was right where a mountain lion was reported along a farmers ditch at that time.

There are signs up all over the neighborhood about keeping your pets in at night due to coyotes. That are wily critters. If you dog is off-leash, one coyote will come up to draw your dog away. Then, as the dog chases or follows the coyote, they are lead to and find themselves surrounded by the pack! Coyote chow!

Same problem here in Alabama with coyotes, small dogs are lunch for them around here.
