Two 1st Model Richards fresh from the bench
« on: September 02, 2010, 08:59:24 PM »
Here are two 1st Model Richards fresh from the bench.
Both revolvers are built on Colt 3rd generation guns.

The engraved gun is a tribute to Last Stand at Saber River with Tom Seleck.
It was built for the Chisolm Trail Collection.
The gun was engraved in an L. D. Nimschke style by the very talented Dale Boster. Dale was tragically killed by a semi truck while riding his Harley shortly after engraving this gun.
The holster is hand crafted by Chisolm Trail Leather and is available at westernleatherholster.com
This gun with the addition of hand carved ivory grips and the holster will be featured in the winter edition of Guns of the Old West.

This revolver is un-engraved and was built for a private collector

Hope you enjoy!

 8) Beautiful pair of Richards. Raven, is the first model type going to be available for do it yourselfers, or are these just something done for a custom commision? Might have to look into something like this.

No offense, but a non-roll engraved cylinder stands out in my eyes. Why not just convert a Cimarron 2nd Model Richards to a 1st Model?  ???

Raven those both are very nice, however I do fancy the gun without engraving the most.

Some here know of my ongoing 1st Model Richards ´´transformation´´ whereas I used a foreign maker for the ring and which ended bitterly. The gun & parts are now with an East Coast gunsmith who has had them for nigh onto just short of a year. If that doesn´t pan out look for a paper bag with parts in your mail for an emergency repair.  :-[  ;)

Raven:

Very nice conversions.  What caliber are the first model conversions?

Thanks,

They're chambered for .44 Colt outside lubed cartridges.

I wonder why I am only seeing a framed greay area with a little white box with a red X in it in the upper left corner on this topic as well as another topic in the Colt Firearms area today despite attempts to refresh or leave and return.
