Yep!  The firing pin broke in half.  Hard to believe when you figure it probably only worked about a million times before it broke.

You broke a GARAND??? That's kind of like breaking an anvil, isn't it?
Believe me, anvils can break and Ned can break guns! ;D

One of my femaile friends got married, moved into a newly-built house and it burned down with a month due to some damned cats knocking over lit candles.

Ya don't light candles without a good reason (like when the power is out).

We have some neighbor cats whizzing & crapping around the outside of my shop.  Last week, I left the one of the garage doors open whilst I was in the house.  Well, 4 of them cats decided to come right on in & start using some floor dry as a latrine.

I saw what was going on & closed the door with the remote.

Use your own imagination as to what happens with a handy BL-22 & CB shorts.   :o  :o :o :o  hehehehehehe

I picked up my new M-1898 rifle yesterday. Oh wait, I said new. Well it does look new any way, well almost new. It carries a 1902 cartouche but it's in better shape than most of the reproduction guns I own ( and I do try to take care of them) It probably doesn't qualify for the title "mint", but I'm not sure "excellent" is good enough. Can't wait to shoot it.

It looks like I'll have to wait though. Another snow storm is supposed to be coming in tonight and Thursday's high is supposed to be -1. I sure am looking forward to May.

Pitspitr, You are not alone. I have yet to shoot my Trapdoor rifle and my Krag. I have had enough of the cold. We haven't had any snow like you guys in Nebraska have had. I vote for the 4th Weekend in July. I have already made plans for the 31st and 1st.

I know this is an old thread but I just had to comment...

When I was young, my mother was a cat person. My dog and I weren't. Enough said...!
