Brevet Lieutenant Colonel Larry Little, aka Gripmaker, is hereby appointed the GAF Chief of Chaplains vice Col. Nathan Riddles who has been inactive the last few years.
Effective immediately, each Department is authorized a Department Chaplain, who will report to the GAF Chief of Chaplains. Duties of all chaplains in the GAF are to provide prayers and invocations at GAF events, and to use their influence to insure the presence of good weather and no injuries at those events.
The GAF Chaplain Corps should not attempt to enforce temperance among the officers and men as the GAF Commander is known to enjoy a wee dram of single malt on occasion, however the Chaplain Corps may encourage the practice of moderation while celebrating at the post sutler.
All GAF Chaplains may use the title of Chaplain (Brevet Captain). Historically, chaplains in the US Army during the last half of the 19th century were given the pay and courtesy of a Captain of Cavalry.
Since Chief of Chaplains Little is also the Commander of the Division of the Missouri which entitles him to the GAF rank of Bvt Lt Col, he may continue to be addressed by that rank while performing his divisional duties. When performing his religious duties he may be addressed as Chaplain.
