my Cimarron 45-75

One other thing in passing.  I was able to get rid of that 12 pound trigger pull besides doing the stock work.  I filed and polished that 2-piece trigger mess and then  put in an original 76 main-spring and lo and behold got the 12 pounds down to 5 pounds and that, I figured, was and is good enough for me.  I have a digital trigger-pull guage and the 5 run average came to about 5.11 pounds.  Just thought that this is some good stuff to pass on.  I was able to get the main spring from a fellow down in Texas by name of Charles Jones who has lots of spare parts for these old rifles and this mainspring took a wee bit of file work to make it work but it fits and works.  If any of you want to do this, I strongly emphasize the use of a case with a fired primer so that you don't damage the firing pin in your test firing for trigger pull.  I just stuck in a spent primer in one of my 50-90 converted cases and whacked away.
When in doubt, mumble!
