Evenin' folks!

I'm only repeating the term used by the tow truck guy.  The part that broke is similar to a tie rod only it's the rear tire so it's not called a tie rod.  When I showed to to the tow guy he called it a rocker arm.  Guess he was full of it.  ::)

I know very little about cars.  That's why I have a trustworthy machanic.  ;D  He's saved me big money because he always calls with options before he does the work.  For example.  The blower on our van stopped working on speeds 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Now it has 5 or off.  If it was just the resistor the part is $40.  It turned out to be the entire unit.  No after market available and the new unit is $300 plus $40 for the resistor.  He called and told me the bill would be $500 for parts and labour.  I did not have the money.  He put it all back together.  $0.  Other local garages would have charged the $75/hour labor just for diagnosis.

I dated a girl who thought that the AC or Heat had only those two positions.  I hardly ever use anything above two and when I'd get in her car I would be blown into the back seat. ;D

Glad you got a good mechanic!  I try not to go to them any more than I have to.  They're like docs.  They always want you to spend some money. ::)

Thinkin’ the Major, you ‘n me live in the same place, Angel.

Prolly a suspension part separated on Stoney’s car. Happens. Cheap factory tie rod ends on my last F-150 were worn to nothin’ at less than 50,000 miles. The OEM replacement stuff from Advance did fall apart, literally.

Ya don’t listen ta a wrecker driver when it comes to diagnosis. If they were a knowledgeable mechanic, opps, ‘skooze me, ‘Tech’, they wouldn’t be drivin’ a wrecker.

Yeah, "Techs"... let's get that straight. :D

...
Been down changing light bulbs in the growout houses,  had a few dark spots. gotta pick up a few more at town.
...

That's good.  You know, for the first few nights in their new home, they might have trouble sleeping and might wanna read to pass time. :D

The email notification of new posts is working better now.

Howdy, pards. I just got in. I tied earlier but had problems and then had to log off and go somewhere. Tried then again later on but had to log off and head out again. Sounds like the forum was having problems, too.

Our guests are leaving tomorrow early. More accurately, I get to run them up to the San Francisco airport at 3:30 so they can catch a plane. I don't envy them at all, they leave at 8:00am here and arrive in Amsterdam at 7:00 in the morning. That's almost a day and a half enroute. Then I need to do some inspections on the way home and after we get back. I may still be scarce tomorrow, too. OK, I suppose I should go get some rest. Asta, pards.

Marshal Will, that's 7:00 AM Amsterdam time.  They are either GMT or GMT+1.  The flight won't be that terribly long, but their bodies will be thinking it's still time to be in bed. ;D

I've hit a couple hiccups tonight, but besides that everything's workin' fine.

OK, I guess I threw in an extra few hours, there. They will be 5 1/2 hours from here to DC and then 8 1/2 to Amsterdam plus the changeover time in DC. They'll be about 16 hours enroute plus customs at the end. They'll be home in time to eat breakfast.

Early bird gets the pepermint stick. ;D  Thanks for the Cawfee.

Car will cost $250.  He he warned me that it's possible they may damage break lines when down there in Rustville.  This car is 14 year old. I hope it last just a bit longer.  I want it to last till March of 09.

If any of you or you significant other, shop at BrylaneHome®, BrylaneHome Kitchen®, OneStopPlus.com™, Woman Within™, Roaman's®, Jessica London®, KingSize®, Chadwick’s®, metrostyle™, La Redoute®, Closeout Catalog Outlet™, or Bargain Catalog Outlet™.  I have a code to give you for youe order so you can save 30% off your order.  (My compay does this every year.)  It's good from now through Dec. 12th.  Shoot me a pm if interested and I'll email you the flyer.

Wahooooooooooo Arbuckles!!!

Now that is CAWFEE

Pards turns out I'll be working this weekend - got a new assignment that was quite the honor to get - but will keep me occupied this weekend.

Hope to see some of my VA pards the second weekend of Dec for some RO-I and RO-II training.

Being a go to guy has it's benefits and it's drawbacks - but it is super career wise.

Well there ain't no Jingle Bob's sold at any of em.  They're mail order catalogue.  All but King Size is for women so your other halves may know the names.  One Plus and Woman Within (fka Lane Bryant) are for women with more to love.  The metrostyle (fka Lerner), chadwick's and jessica london are for the rest.  I just print the reports so I really don't have much to do with that side of the business.

Like I said, if your interested I'll PM the codes.

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee, Tensleep.

You turned that on!??  I'd never get any rest with all the computer constantly yelling "Mailtruck!" at me. ;D
Mine yells, "Message for ya, sir!" It's a clip from Monty Python's "Holy Grail".  ;D

More accurately, I get to run them up to the San Francisco airport at 3:30 so they can catch a plane.
I've been thru that airport twice. The first time was about 1994. Had a conference in San Fran. The second time was about 2002. Visited a branch office in Hayward.

'Tis 10, sunny and blustery. High of 24. I think winter has arrived.  ::)

BTW, my bell's clapper fell off last night. I don't know if I have a ladder long enough to reach to but if back on.
