In tha SOUTH, English walnuts is an abomination!  >:(

 ;D

Not even for gunstocks? ;D

Round here the favored I Scream is Blue Bunny out of LeMars Iowy up by Sue City.  Had a 1/2 gallon of their Burr-dough cherry round here the other day, don't know where it went cause I'm the only one round here likes that kind. ;D

SOUTHERN Black Walnut is preferred fer gunstocks, that English stuff is too pretentious. Tha prior statement had to do with eating the nasty nut of tha foreign tree.
'Mericans throwed tha English out fer ah reason.

there's a fella up here that saws railroad ties, he comes by the house everyday with a 10 wheeler load of oak logs stacked high, the other day he came by with a load of different looking logs, asked a neighbor about it, he has been saving all the walnut logs till he had a load of them, he said he was going to square saw them and put em in his barn to cure.
says he's always being asked if he has any black walnut wood, so he's stocking up. ;D

'Mericans throwed tha English out fer ah reason.

Is that cause they don't speak English proper? ;)

I do wish they would put Black Walnut on these Eye-tall-ion guns, it's hard to make them look right with Juglans regia on them 'stead of Juglans nigra on them.  (Biology teacher I had said use the taxonomical name on things, makes ya look eddy-cated and you can always get it from the dictionary.) ;)

Got some Black Walnut hulls to make some stain with and see if that makes the wood on my Sharps look better. ;)

(For some danged reason though, eatin' them gives me a head ache.)
