I think OT's "guy from the other side of the mountian" just walked in, he went to get his buddy cause he's never seen tall top boots before. ::)  I think he's runnin' shine somewhere and wandered in. ;D

Del, ya better plug this one in the CD while they're there.   ;D

BALLAD OF THUNDER ROAD
Let me tell the story, I can tell it all
About the mountain boy who ran illegal alcohol
His daddy made the whiskey, son, he drove the load
When his engine roared, they called the highway Thunder Road.

Sometimes into Ashville, sometimes Memphis town
The revenoors chased him but they couldn’t run him down
Each time they thought they had him, his engine would explode
He'd go by like they were standin’ still on Thunder Road.

(CHORUS)
And there was thunder, thunder over Thunder Road
Thunder was his engine, and white lightning was his load
There was moonshine, moonshine to quench the Devil’s thirst
The law they swore they'd get him, but the Devil got him first.

On the first of April, nineteen fifty-four
A Federal man sent word he’d better make his run no more
He said two hundred agents were coverin’ the state
Whichever road he tried to take, they’d get him sure as fate.

Son, his Daddy told him, make this run your last
The tank is filled with hundred-proof, you’re all tuned up and gassed
Now, don’t take any chances, if you can’t get through
I’d rather have you back again than all that mountain dew.

(CHORUS)

Roarin’ out of Harlan, revvin’ up his mill
He shot the gap at Cumberland, and screamed by Maynordsville
With T-men on his taillights, roadblocks up ahead
The mountain boy took roads that even Angels feared to tred.

Blazing right through Knoxville, out on Kingston Pike,
Then right outside of Bearden, they made the fatal strike.
He left the road at 90; that’s all there is to say.
The devil got the moonshine and the mountain boy that day.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

"I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved."

Might you be referrin' to one of these? ;D

I have always loved the Far Side since it first came out.  His view on the idiosyncrasies of life is dead on.  For about ten years I had one of those day-by-day calenders until he quit drawing.  I then switched to Dilbert, which is also hilarious if you work in an office environment.  For 2007, they brought back the Far Side calendar (but with the old comics, of course :(), so that's where I'm getting all of these.

;D That would be one. I think here we'd have to have a CCP to have one of those...but then again you'd have to have one in order to be puttin any gun in the glove box.  ::)

Havin' never worked in an office I don't find Dilbert that funny most times.  However of course the English Comedy show "Are You Being Sereved" I find hilarious at times, esp since they are a clothing store. ;D

However there is one Dilbert cartoon I find useful around forum boards and have saved to use as needed. ;D

I've worked in a clothing store, but long before that I was getting a kick out of Are You Being Served. ;D ;D

It's amazing how much Dilbert actually reflects the daily life in the office.  You can laugh that your office is so screwed up that it is just like Dilbert's or you could cry from the knowledge that just about everyone else is also drawing similiarites.

Don't know nothin about it, it weren't my fault, yer kin, but not that close!  :o ::) ;D
T'wasn't calling you "Dad", just reminding you that you old. ;D ;)

However there is one Dilbert cartoon I find useful around forum boards and have saved to use as needed. ;D
I keep this cartoon available for one of the other forums I visit.  Now before Arcey turns his Glock in my dirrection, this is not a slam on those that love Glocks.  This is a slam on trolls that stir the pot with their Glock vs 1911 threads.

I love the farside AND I enjoy Dilbert since I werk in a cubical however my ALL TIME favorite is Calvin and Hobbes.

Thanks for the coffee.

If it can't be nice, eaten, make money, create comfort or provide real pleasure.........kill it or trade it in on new one!
