Back in the late 60's early 70's, Bob's brother, Johnny lee Wills had a big Western Store there in Tulsa, I'd go in there every chance I got, Bob was in there once, I got ta shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed his Music.
when my Grandmother was in a rest home for a few months, the little man in the room next door was always sittin out in the hall and sayin hi to everybody, didn't seem that he had anybody ever coming to see him, one day I just sat down by him and started vistin, come to find out his name was Bill Wills, Bob Wills Cousin, he was the bus driver for Bob during his heyday. he had a boot box just packed full of pictures of Bob and the Texas Playboys, he'd sit there and tell a story about every one of em, I really did enjoy visitin with him, from that day on I always just planned to take twice as long, cause I knew I'd be visitin with him a little while too.
he told me once that the most important thing to Bob was that everybody that came to their dances, have a good time, he said when the dance started, Bob would tell him to look around and if he saw any girls that wasn't dancing, ask em to dance.
he'd say there wasn't much air conditioning back then, he said his job was to make them fat girls sweat.
