Dang.
Well i guess he'll fit right in with that perfect band in the sky.
I was gonna put up lyrics but can't fer the life of me remember that one.  Anyhow, I'm sure he was extremely well received.

There is a band in the sky for everyone's taste in music.  Western Swing is my all time favorite kind of music. Bob Wills is the inventor of what we call Western Swing. All his band members should be in that band. Red Stegall does a song called  "Bobs Got A Swing Band In Heaven", names all of the members of Bob's band and the instrument they played. Western Swing music grew up in Texas and Oklahoma during the Depression and it is till going strong almost 80 years later.  Thanks to bands like Asleep at the Wheel the tradition of Western Swing music lives on.

"Booger" Red Stegall is the Cowboy Poet Laurelate of Texas besides being a purty good sanger.  "Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills Music" is one of amy favorites and the album that he did as a tribute to Rodeo riders.

One of my favorites also.   He's purt good with a rope too, and in the past couple of years he's been comentating the NCHA finals.   This is why I said Cowboy and not Cowboy Sanger ;D

Had the pleasure of MC'ing a show of his in Montana 10- 12 years back, He and and a couple of others, myself, sat and watched a jackpot roping together before his show and shared stories. Great guy to chat with.

Red is a Cowboy. He grew up on the Waggoner Ranch around Wichita Falls, Texas.  He's a pretty good team roper.

Also one of my favorites!

I believe I've put it up before, either here or on the other music thread:

My yellow rose of Texas packed up and left this mornin'
I don't know where she's gone and most of all I don't know why
I only know I've got the blues I've never been this lonesome
It's enough to make a man lay down and die

Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills music
When I hear Faded Love I feel at home
Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills music
Have kept my heart alive since you've been gone

[ steel - fiddle ]
Got a pocket full of quarters to feed to that old jukebox
Bob Wills music helps to keep that woman off my mind
Bartender kept that Lone Star comin' long as I got money
Cause I plan to being here till closing time

Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills music...
Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills music
Have kept my heart alive since you've been gone

Leo’s reminded me of this one…..

Mississippi Queen, If you know what I mean
Mississippi Queen, She taught me everything
Way down around Vicksburg, Around Louisiana way
Lived a cajun lady, we called her Mississippi Queen
You know she was a dancer
She moved better on wine

While the rest of them dudes were'a gettin' their kicks,
Buddy, beg your pardon, I was getting mine!

Mississippi Queen, If you know what I mean
Mississippi Queen, She taught me everything
This lady she asked me, If I would be her maaan
You know that I told her, I'd do what I can
To keep her looking pretty
Buy her dresses that shine

While the rest of them dudes were making their bread
Buddy, beg your pardon, I was losing mine!

You know she was a dancer
She moved better on wine

While the rest of them dudes were'a gettin' their kicks,
Brotha, beg your pardon, now I'm getting mine!

Yeeeaaaaah, Mississippi Queen!

This one here always bring a grin to ma face.  I remember well the night I was out hunting a woman who had jumped bail on us, my wife had written the bond and the woman didin't know who I was, so I went down to the downtown bar and there she was, drinking and dancing with all the ole boys.  well I waited ma turn bought her a beer visited a little and asked her to dance with me. well this was the song that came on and I danced her around the floor a couple of times and on one pass we just danced right out the open back door,  I slapped the handcuffs on her and hurried right on out to the pickup, put her in and made a good escape.
took her on down to the jail and checked her in.

but this song always gives me smile or 2 ;D

Well, I was raised in a sophisticated kind of style.

Yeah, my taste in music and women drove my folks half wild.
Mom and Dad had a plan for me,
It was debutantes and er-symphonies,
But I like my music; I like my women wild.

Yeah, an' I like my women just a little on the trashy side,
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed.
Too much lipstick an' er too much rouge,
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused.
An' I like my women just a little on the trashy side.

Shoulda seen the looks on the faces of my Dad and Mom,
When I showed up at the door with a date for the senior prom.
They said: "Well, pardon us son, she ain't no kid.
"That's a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig.
I said: "I know it dad, ain't she cool, that's the kind I dig."

Yeah, an' I like my women just a little on the trashy side,
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed.
Too much lipstick an' er too much rouge,
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused.
An' I like my women just a little on the trashy side.

Instrumental break.

I like 'em sweet, I like 'em with a heart of gold.
Yeah an' I like 'em brassy, I like 'em brazen and bold.
Well, they say that opposites attract, well, I don't agree
I want a woman just as tacky as me.
Yeah, I like my women just a little on the trashy side.

Yeah, an' I like my women just a little on the trashy side,
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed.
Too much lipstick an' er too much rouge,
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused.
An' I like my women just a little on the trashy side.

Yeah, I like my women an' I like 'em on the trashy side.

That is a great one ;D ;D ;D
I think of that one alot when I think of my prom--best friend of mine got a date from who knows where who knew alot more about life than we did ;)  My date ended with a "thank ya mam" 'n' a peck on the cheek and his went well into the night!  I'll have ta look up his number and ask him where he found that one.  If she was lookin ta relive her youth, well I guess she did just that ;D
     Again, great song.

In celebration of Leo’s anniversary gift:

Rubber Duckie, you're the one,
You make bathtime lots of fun,
Rubber Duckie, I'm awfully fond of you;

Woo woo be doo

Rubber Duckie, joy of joys,
When I squeeze you, you make noise!
Rubber Duckie, you're my very best friend, it's true!

Doo doo doo doo, doo doo

Every day when I
Make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's
Cute and yellow and chubby

Rub-a-dub-a-dubby!

Rubber Duckie, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber Duckie, I'm awfully fond of you.
