LOL
I hear you, and trust me, you'll want to play Los Lonely Boys loud.  that vidcap is kinda ehh, but you get the gist of the song.  It's live and well, live.  with all the extra noises and overdrive on the recorder, etc.

check out some other youtube videos of them to get a better idea of their sound, they're amazing.

Since is it New Year's Day:

U2 - NEW YEARS DAY

All is quiet on New Year's Day.
A world in white gets underway.
I want to be with you, be with you night and day.
Nothing changes on New Year's Day.
On New Year's Day.

I... will be with you again.
I... will be with you again.

Under a blood-red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspaper says, says
Say it's true, it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one.

I... I will begin again
I... I will begin again.

Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh.
Oh, maybe the time is right.
Oh, maybe tonight.
I will be with you again.
I will be with you again.

And so we are told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

Maybe this one is better for those that have partied a bit too much:

Well I woke up Sunday morning,
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes,
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
An' I shaved my face and combed my hair,
An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

I'd smoked my brain the night before,
On cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin'.
But I lit my first and watched a small kid,
Cussin' at a can that he was kicking.
Then I crossed the empty street,
'n caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken.
And it took me back to somethin',
That I'd lost somehow, somewhere along the way.

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cos there's something in a Sunday,
Makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothin' short of dyin',
Half as lonesome as the sound,
On the sleepin' city sidewalks:
Sunday mornin' comin' down.

In the park I saw a daddy,
With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'.
And I stopped beside a Sunday school,
And listened to the song they were singin'.
Then I headed back for home,
And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'.
And it echoed through the canyons,
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cos there's something in a Sunday,
Makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothin' short of dyin',
Half as lonesome as the sound,
On the sleepin' city sidewalks:
Sunday mornin' comin' down.

Do do do do do do do do,
Do do do do do do do,
Do do do do do do do do,
Do do do do do do do.

Yeah, Jonny and Kris was awesome.
I think I found a great outlaw group that sounds amazing... blends country, jazz, rock, and blues (so basically old school blues!!!) into a "Texican Rock"  been a fan for years.  Los Lonely Boys
I know I already put up "Outlaw" by them, but the first one on their new album (just got it! It ROCKS!) is sooo blues, had to post it up!

"Heart Won't Tell a Lie"

I don't get around much like I used to.
I don't cry, not unless I want to.
Might be somethin' in the air.
Might be that I just don't care.
Might be cuz I lost my baby,
Or it might be my mind, yeah.

Well, you might think that I'm talkin' crazy.
Might even believe its true,
Cuz right now my life's a little hazy.
Can't even put on my shoes.
Might be cuz the worlds gone crazy, darlin',
Or it might be my mind.

Search your soul and you will find
That your heart won't tell a lie.

I can't lie even if I want to.
My momma didn't raise no fool.
Hey, I seen what you go believin',
And I know about the Golden Rule.
Might be cuz I'm a dreamer, baby,
Or it might be my mind

Search your soul and you will find
That your heart won't tell a lie.

Search your soul and you will find
That your heart won't tell a lie.

Searched and found this one, from 1992, back when CMT was all video and some of it was even good. ;D

Love the road trains in the video.

Country music has became City Music. ::)  Most of it is 70's Pop Rock, a type I didn't like in the 70's. ;)

Now the Indians are dressing up like cowboys
And the cowboys are putting leather and turquoise on
And the music is sold by lawyers
And the fools who fiddled in the middle of the stations are gone
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

Several who try to keep Country music where it should be have covered this one, but don't get much air play, although I here it's one of Alllan Jackson's most requested live.

Guess the guy who wrote it did it best. ;)

I see I have to defend myself now... my favorite country singers in order:
Garth Brooks, his old stuff, mainly No Fences and Ropin' the Wind
Hank William Jr, Any!
favorite: country boy can survive
Trace Adkins, any
George Straight, any
Alan Jackson, any
Martina McBride, before her new hair, and pop'iness
Brooks and Dunne, any
Big and Rich, any that aren't singles... those are okay, but waaay tooo mainstream
and last but certainly not least
Jimmy Buffet

so there! hA!
Now the Indians are dressing up like cowboys
And the cowboys are putting leather and turquoise on
And the music is sold by lawyers
And the fools who fiddled in the middle of the stations are gone

OT, love that!  Tim McGraw has a song called "who are they" pretty good lyrics, but set to a pretty standard pop-style country...

I either have to listen to my CD collection or "Willie's Place" on XM to hear my kind of music, Taditional country, Western Swing, and Cowboy music.

yeah, I'm not too much of a fan of that new country either.  Taylor Swift is not country.  Nor is anyone else now.  I think we can blame Shania for all the problems.  After her, even Trisha, Faith, and Martina went pop. And Jessica Simpson is "trying" country.  It isn't country.  I loved that about Gone Country.  Stupid girl from American Idol thought that pop and country were the same, you just add a twang to it.  Jon Rich nailed her for it, and nailed her to the cross hard!  He was pissed.  Just adding a steel guitar and slide isn't country.  It's the lyrics, is the beat, it's the sound.  Adding some blues or rock, that's fine, they originated, everything originated with a banjo and a harmonica.  Bout time people remembered that.  Be nice to have a new kid go old school.
