Reporting back in - been taking care of family
« on: March 26, 2007, 07:55:21 AM »
Sir, BRVT Captain PR reporting back in.

I have helped my family bring my Father back up to a rightous good health and can fulfill my military duties once again.

I also have the pleasure to report that the Missus is pregnant with our third recruit in training and that my eldest will commence 4H firearm training this fall.

It had been quite some time without shooting and I was able to get the rust off a couple a weekends ago in Richmond, VA and can happily report that I will be attending ROUND-UP in April in the hills of Raphine, VA and in June going up stream to the MD State shoot - heard there was some illegal Rum running going on there!!

I have aquired in my absence a 1879 43 spanish rolling block in almost 100% condition with a mirror bore.

If I do my job, it keeps the shot within 4 inches on a 6 inch paper plate at 85yds (longest i could do while taking care of Parents Farm - ie using the back paddock area).

Hope all is well with everyone else.

What are your orders Sir??!!

Capt. Pony Racer,

Mighty oleased to hear you have reported back for duty. Congratulations to you and the Missus regarding the new recruit in training. Keep up the good work!!!

The 43 Rolling Blocks are a hoot to shoot. Some have a .439 bores size while others are .446. This can make accuracy a challenge until the right bullet/load is found. Your's seems to be shooting quite well already.

Reprt back on the MD illegal rum running. Bring back sufficient evidence for extensive testing.

As a matter of fact, I think a keg under each arm would make excellent flotation devices.
