Does anyone know of a source for decent replacement grips for a Pietta 1858?
I don't want to spend more than the gun is worth, or have anything to cheap or plasticy looking..

I'm totally sold on Gripmaker's grips. They're almost indestructible and age like real bone. The second photo shows how they look after a couple years.

Post a pic when you get something chosen and on. It'll be fun to see which ones you choose.

+1 on Gripmaker

As far as aging, the grips on the 1858 on the right have several years more use and exposure than the left hand grips. I routinely wipe the grips down with dirty swabs whenever I clean.

Looking good, John. Is that a genuine Whitney or a replica? If replica, who made it? :D

Thanks. I like it. How does it feel by comparison to the Remmie and is that a Uberti?

I liked the grip better, they're a bit smaller and slimmer in my hand.

Remington is a Uberti, which I have an R&D cylinder I use in it.

As I have been shooting Working Cowboy exclusively since NCOWS introduced the class, my carpetbag and '66 Winchester, along with the Remmie, are all I have to lug up and down the range.

Thanks, it sounds like a fun one. I got a Uberti with narrower grips one time and it felt really comfortable compared to others.
