Help for Broken Extractor

Son busted the end off the extractor on his vintage winchester 73 - does anybody know if a Uberti will fit (it should but I dont have the winchester to hand to check ) thanks

If I knew the process to upload photos I'd share mine! Have two '73's (YOM 1876 and 1879, respectively) and the original extractor broke on my older one with enthusiastic use. I welded new spring steel on with a wirefeed welder and shaped it to match the newer rifle's profile. It required one removal for "touch-up" and has since cycled several hundred rounds smoothly in the hands of my 14 year-old.
One other note, I bought a new extractor from Dixie Gun Works and the hole to pin it in the bolt was out of spec. Wouldn't fit. Try eBay, I've bought most everything I needed to bring my earlier rifle back from "wall-hanger" to tack-driver. (That's a little joke, Old barrel gives me 6" groups from a bench at 75 yards with Unigue under a .429 Bear Creek Supply molycoated 205gr RNFP bullet)

Thought I could be of some help.  Then remembered the guy I got all my Original Antique Winchester Gun Parts from .... Died.  Some rude of him to just up and do that.  Oh well.

Yeah some of those old fellers just got no consideration at all.

I ordered a Uberti - if it dont fit or we cant fit it we got two ubertis and one spare extractor and I get to make one for the winchester - will post back in a month or so with results.
