Thanksgiving
« on: November 26, 2014, 06:01:54 AM »
To all ye who served and or are still serving and for all those who support those who have or do presents and greetings.

Know that I am thankful for ya'll.

Happy early Thanksgiving from chilly and rainy Williamsburg, VA.

Hope to see some of ya'll down the road for a shoot, food and or coffee.

I remember Thanksgiving dinner at Manifah Bay, Saudi Arabiia during the first Gulf War.  Two of my Lance Corporals were working as servers in the chow line.  When they saw me, one of them said "Don't worry, Sir, it tastes a little better than it looks!"  Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the special Thanksgiving meal in the field!  Wouldn't trade those experiences for anything, though!  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
"There go those Nebraskans, and all hell couldn't stop them!"

1957 Thanksgiving at Pickel Meadows, USMC Cold Weather/Survival Training Center. Temperature about 35 below zero but the Corps did its best to serve a great Thanksgiving Dinner. My turkey was flash frozen and was like crackers, it was impossible to distinguish the mashed potatoes from the ice cream with chocolate sauce but "H" the Corps did its best.  :-) Semper Fidelis!
