Howdy Folks!

This is a copy of a post I just made over on the SASS Wire, and I've already been pointed towards Capt. George Baylor, whom I contacted a few minutes ago.

I'm actually looking for Punitive Expedition stuff for an Ohio National Guard Cavalry Officer interpretation, but folks who shoot Wild Bunch are using the same sort of thing, so, can anyone point me in the direction to find:

-Officer's riding boots
-Officer's riding gloves, horsehide or buckskin
-An olive drab, moleskin, sheepskin-lined, single-breasted mackinaw
-Wrist strap for a pocket watch
-M1909 cavalry bridle and bits

Budget is an issue, so if anyone knows of used pieces that I might find (I wear about a 46 jacket, an XL glove and a size 12 boot) please let me know, and sorry if this part of the post oughta go into the Classifieds!

Attached is a picture of the man I hope to portray, Captain (retired as Brig. Gen'l) P. Lincoln Mitchell, a fellow Cincinnatian, with his horse Moonshine on the Border in Texas in 1916/17.

I had a guy named Tom Mattimore make me up a pair of knee high Field Boots, Brown Leather.  You can find him on FaceBook and IIRC his website is WWW.civilwarboots.com.  He did a great job for me for my Punitive Era impression.

For the horse gear/tac try S&S Firearms out of New York.  A Google or Bing search should get you there.

You might also try the guys at the Barracks forum here in cascity.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

For Horse Tack David Carrico would also be a source
I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Pitspitr

Prairie Flower Leather Company makes the Wrist  watch strap. http://www.pflco.com/

Echo the above recommendations on Carrico, S&S and Civil War Boots.

You might also want to try to contact Capt. Mack here on Cas City. You sound to be about his size and it's my understanding that he's getting out of the hobby and selling his stuff.

How is this for a Punitive Expedition trooper?
