Lou Graham

My Dear Major,
This is to report preparations are complete and tomorrow, under cover of darkness, I am dispatching the special shipment.  The express rider will be on a large brown horse.

As many of us are converging for the appointed Muster Call from all points of the compass, it was though prudent to avoid arousing suspicion or anxiety by taking large amounts of ammunition on a public conveyance.

Your humble representative from the Dept. of the Atlantic will follow in due course with all necessary arms for the appointed Muster in the Kansas Territory.

With great anticipation,

Lou Graham, GAF # 311

Message Recieved and understood.

For all who see this message, I am calling a "Quick Shackle" for coordinates.  Charlie Uniform.

How many out there know what I am talking about?

Well, I reckon - but I'm going to be miscieveous and not say right at the moment.  I'd like to see who else out there knows some of these trivia questions.

As I recollect (its been a while since I heard that particular terminology) that you are requesting a grid coordinate, encrypted, and you are "authenticating" the request with the coded letters "Charlie Uniform".

I remember doing this a number of times while I was in 2d Armored Division, but never did it again at FT Knox, or anywhere else, for that matter.

Joe,

You drilled it.  So, what are the two base phrases for Quick Shackle?  Hence where did the Charlie Uniform come from?

Major Matt,

I beleive that you are asking for identification of the letters Q S  of which the reply would be C U out of the operational CEOI.

Seeing as I remembered that from 25 years ago when I was a young 2LT, I would say that Old Top nailed it.

Major Matt,

Instead of Quick Shackle, I beleive it should be Qubec Serria.  And what is the eight digit coordinates?  ;)

Major Matt Lewis

We always called it Quick Shackle.  Never thought to call it Quebec Seirra, of course you know how we Marines are ;D

Major Matt,

I have worked and played with the Marines and they are a good group of people, a little quirkey, but a good group.  Almost as crazy as the Airborne.

Old Top,

Just to answer your other question:

Bravo, Echo. Romeo, Charlie, Uniform, Alpha, Uniform Latitude
Romeo, Alpha, Echo, Uniform, Romeo, Delta, Sierra  Longitude

Can anyone tell me where the following coordinates are.  I have another if anybody can noodle this...

Major Matt Lewis

A good guess.  An obvious guess, given where we are now, but an incorrect guess.

Major Matt,

I do not seem to have my universal transvers mector system with me at the moment but I will try to find it and I think that I can identify where you are at.
