what is the difference in these marlin rifles?

what is the difference between the 1894 and the 1894 cowboy models?

the cowboy model in the photos has no checkering and costs more, why?

1894 Cowboy = 24" octagon barrel, dovetailed front sight, no barrel band, no sling swivels, calibers: 45 Colt, 357 Mag/38 Spl, or 44 Mag/44Spl


1894  = 20" round barrel, screwed-in ramp front sight, barrel band, sling swivels, calibers: 44 Mag/44Spl
1894C = 18.5" round barrel, screwed-in ramp front sight, barrel band, sling swivels, calibers: 357 Mag/38 Spl

Action wise, there's no difference. The barrels and forearms are about the only change.....Buck 8)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....
