I just picked up a new in the box, never fired Uberti 1873 saddle ring carbine in .44-40 that I bought through gunbroker. It was made in 1978 and imported by Navy Arms. This thing is nice. Action is a little rough, but I will take care of that in time. I know the firing pin extension is different, but are there any internal differences between this old rifle and a new made one? Any info is appreciated.

Well, between my 2014 made rifle and this 1978 made carbine I know that the lever/lifter springs and the toggle links will interchange. When I have more time I will check other parts as well.

I beleive the carrier is shorter on these early guns, they do not have the sloped front as on the new guns.
OAL is far more critical on the early guns.
Nice gun, I am waiting for my 38WCF to arrive from Uberti.

Mine worked just fine. My rifle was bought new a short time ago and the carbine was "never fired", which from the looks of the gun inside and out, I believe.

Not hijacking...just say'n'  :)

I have circa a 1979 Henry, I bought NIB in 1980, at a casual glance it's much the same as the other Henry's I have Circa 1999 & 2007.
and that includes the 2013 HRA H011 I also have....

Inside, several differences
when planets align...do the deal !

I understand there are likely differences. That was the point of starting this thread and seeing what parts will interchange between my 73s.
