Prayer Posse Please
« on: December 28, 2011, 02:34:20 PM »
I would sure appreciate another prayer from you folks...(hope I haven't used up my allotment...) anyways my dad could only see outta one eye, and last night he came up unable to see outta it...so he is pretty much blind right now. has appointment with his eye specialist tomorrow, so we shall see....

Grandma Phyllis told my sister when she lost her job a couple of weeks ago, that she "saw something else for her down the road"....Phyl never makes these predictions.....I sure hope that job wasn't to take care of our now blind father.

It is already pretty hard on his spirits...He was sayin this morning that we may as well just put him in the "home"

thanks for any pray action ya can send our way.

Curly,

When my granfather was in his 90s, he was deaf as s doorknob (almost); you had to yell in his ear to be heard. Blood clots had settled in his thighs, making his leg muscles unusable. And if he saw at all, he didn't let on ...

But the mind was still there ... and if anyone needed a problem solved, he went to Grandpa ... I can still see them standing in line on a Sunday to take turns yelling into his 'good' ear.

But they always walked away with an answer to a crippling problem, usually shaking their heads as if to say, 'Now, why didn't I think o that?'

Moral of the story is: don't let your dad sell himself short ... he still has 50+ years  more experience than almost anyone in your family ...

Best wishes for a New Year ... and your dad will indeed be in my prayers!
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Allotment my @$$!  You'll get all I have...I can get more.

Tell your pappy I'm looking forward to seeing him someday, and having him SEE me back.

UPDATE:

Today, dad saw the doc, and he had a severely detached retina (again). Took him in and did surgery immediately, and the doc said it is looking very good.....

Once again, thanks to you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Don't know rick, but sometimes a change of pressure will do it....even a hard sneeze or cough....Dads had torn before so it was already weak...
