PeJay:  You might want to check this website.  This is where I got my Cav Boots.  Bring up the home page, then click on Civil War Reenactment.  They have some factory defect Cav Boots for cheap.

I like a woman who wears spurs. It sort of adds incentive to the game.
Hey, Big John!  Just what kinda incentive are ya meaning?  It just ain't purtty to watch this woman "try" to walk in spurs-
As much as I love wearing 'em-I'm a boot diaster wanting ta happen!! :o ;D

I came up with an idea about spurs and my belt rig a couple of years ago.  I now remove them when ever I have to climb on a ladder at work.  I know I won't fall because of them, just to used to wearin' them.  However if I did fall and got injured by them while on a ladder there would be a report that ended up in some OSHA office.  I am sure there is a law against climbin' on a ladder with a belt rig and spurs. ;D ;D  I would not want myself or my employer to suffer the wrath of these often humorless folks. ::) :o ;D ;)

If OSHA had their way, everybody would be so covered in protective stuff they wouldn't be able to get anything done.

Big John:  Just like in the Army when you do a MOPP exercise.  You get in to all that MOPP gear, sling your ruck on your back, grab your M-16, then they tell you....be agile!  Uh huh!  Sure!

As someone who has worked in several industries I have seen some silly and heavy handed BS from the OSHA folks, but I have also seen things I applaude.

Such as when I worked in a steel fab shop and an Idependant tester would come out and measure our alloy chains for stretch.  Every time one was painted red and tossed out to the truck drivers as boomer chains it lessened the chance that a up to 20+ ton piece of an Erector Set would fall on me while we were liftin' it.  Contrary to popular belief, the common hard hat does little good in such a situation. ::) :o
