My viewpoint is that it is the most popular class for a very good reason:  It works well the way it is.  If there were a grass root movement to change it, there would not be the support and participation that is shown on a consistent basis.  It's not broken, so don't mess with it.

Lot of talk about changing the working cowboy class, type of hold of the revolver, type of powder you use. I like it just the way it is. It's just a lot of fun. Each to their own and it may well be changed someday. I'll still shoot it a lot ever how it turns out. With some of the problems I have, sometimes it's the only way I can still make a shoot. Thanks NCOWS for such a great ideal. Tj

TJ my friend, if it were to be changed as I suggested you could sill sign up to shoot 2 handed and if you felt a particular stage was better suited to be shot one handed you could do it......not visa versa however ;)

All: With the current primer shortage the proposed and thoughtful 'sod buster' category suits me fine: you can still get #209 shot shell primers and a cap-&-ball revolver would fit the bill.

Rowdy: Now I understand why your youtube videos have that appreciated and methodical 'block of instruction' feel to them - you're an old 11B (or 11A?). TRADOC would be proud of you.

Rowdy....

I for one hope we never reach the 50,000 member mark. The way we are now with 2000 or so members, is like a large self governing body/FAMILY that makes decisions for NCOWS at the member level with a simple yes or no through our Territorial Reps.

Those decisions may not always be popular with some of our members, and they may come or go, but it is us making those decisions for better or worse. I can understand having 5000 members or a few more, but I don't want our membership to lose control over how NCOWS is run.

Sometimes smaller is better and I like not have a large group of business men/women that are in it to make money for themselves, make our decisions for us.

Working Cowboy provides a much easier point of entry for those of us who don't have eighty-gazillion dollars to spend on guns and equipment...

...yet.

I just thought of yet another class, "Bartender"; one revolver or pocket pistol or two derringers, and a short double-barrel shotgun.

Okay, sorry, I'll shut up now...  :D
