Actually Prof. the Horsecavalryman did not misspeak there were indeed revolving long guns years before 1860.
I:E  Mr. Henry & Mr. Spencer's repeater patents ...

Colt's Roots 1855 Sidehammer Revolving Carbine, was preceded by a Patterson model....In the book "Swamp Sailors"  ( George Baker )
100 experimental rifles were with the expedition up the Miami River during the Second Seminole War.
The 1836 operation in the Everglades involved the Army, Marines, and Revenue Service to destroy Chekika  the leader of the "Spanish Indians".
More can be read in John T. Sprague's "The Florida War."

I believe Ferguson  experimented with a revolving Breach rifle.
Also in the late 1780's there was this one, by an unknown maker

River City John, thanks for courtesy of reply, Jay Strite, installed a Spencer sling bar that's color casehardened. Don't think this has been fired Nipples are for Musket caps which carberize pretty fast. And at 12lbs recoil should be light. If you can heft the brute.  These preceded the Henry's and Spencers by almost 50 years.  Some folks don't like crescent butt plates.

Greetings My Good Horsecavalryman

I am also curious as to the price you would ask, to be honest mainly out of curiousity, as I am a well known cheapskate frugal sort....

If you've never fired it, I'm guessing someone had judging by the discoloration at the breech in the bottom picture, - and determined that dustmop on the butt was necessary to soften some stiff recoil.

If you decide to sell and set a price, be sure to post again so's to let those in the community who may be curious know. In the dimensions I don't see trigger reach.

I'm contemplating sale of my replica Palmetto Arms, Colt Roots 1855 Sidehammer Revolving Carbine, Repeater.  Note this is the repeater that CSA had from the start and could feed till the end.    https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10205399274917256&type photos and description with takedown videos and comparison to originals.
Customized by Jay Strite of "Raven's Roost"  Bll. is 18 5/8" weight is apx. 12lbs. 6shot cal.45. ,musket cap/nipples.  If ya want to go Bear huntn' with Black Powder Replica firearm this one will give ya 6 chances to survive the experience.  Should work well vs. most game.  Most units issued in ACW kept these when offered Sharps single shot carbines.
It's fired by holding trigger hand with other hand much like modern Combat Pistol Stance.  Note. the sights aren't visible till hammer is at full cock. Rear sight is 3 leaf and suitable for Peep drilling. Front sight is oversize NSSA target sight that will have to be adjusted (Filed) to regulate with rear. I haven't fired this carbine. In fact looks unfired.
Appraised favorably by importer Dixie Gun Works.  Will accept offers but haven't decided to sell at this time. Offered to friends first and subject to local prior sales.  Postal Money Orders ONLY  paypal doesn't allow firearm sales/ and keep yer money to boot.
