He is in Craig, CO right now for the Dept of the Platte muster.  And yes, he knows about the flooding...

Good news that he is currently high and dry, rain fall estimates in his area were over 6 inches and a lot of roads closed to flooding....

Thank you for your concern.

We got home late last night/early this morning. By then the flooding appeared to have mostly receded. Some of the kids' field is under water again, but other than that the only damage I've seen here on my place was substantial amounts of gravel washed off the driveway.
Town wasn't as fortunate. One widow lady's basement apparently had a wall collapse and reports of around a foot and a half of water in a lot of basements. There were street closures at some point, but they were back open by the time we got home.

Thanks again for checking on me.

If you need a boat to get to the top of Grand Muster hill it is time to move to the AZ desert

Hi

When I moved to Oklahoma in 2012, we had a major drought for a few years.  I'm not a proponent of flooding, but it does beat the whole drought thing.  Stanley Draper Lake was empty, you could jump 20 feet (roughly, I didn't have a way to measure it) off the end of the boat ramp, walk about 100 yards, and that's where the mud started.  They drained it to fix the inlets for the OKC water system, and it never filled back up.  Skiing was a bit limited...

I don't know, I think I'd rather have a drought. We're gear toward drought here a lot more than rain. Plus your roads and bridges don't go away during a drought, and I don't have a boat, so not being able to take it to the lake doesn't bother me.
