I finally broke down and ordered myself some quality leather for my Pietta 7-1/2" 44-40 SAAs - the "Spaghetti Western" rig from El Paso Saddlery. I already have their "Austin" 1911 holster for "Wild Bunch" and I like it.
My wife wears Ted Blocker leather, their "Dixie Bell" rig for her 7-1/2" Pietta SAAs. I checked their line up and couldn't find anything that pumped my handle.
I ordered it without any 'rough out' leather as those rigs seem to get grubby pretty quick. I also ordered no cartridge loops as I'm past the time when I thought it looked cool. Now I don't want the weight.
Anyone got any experience with this particular design?

I have one, natural, loops, no rough out, and no fancy stitching, like it lot, got mine in 5.5 inch length. Got mine in 1986, still great, like new. I think back then the fancy stitching went on both sides of the belt, thought it would catch on my clothes, and break.

Are there "wings" on the back of the holster to hold it in place on the belt?
If so, could you post a pic. Thanks.

there screw on the holster that holds it in place

I ordered an EPS "Patton" holster, belt and mag pouch for my 1911 when I was deployed to the Gulf. BLack with the USN buckle. (USN don't care as long as it's black) Love their stuff.
